Rat Control €175 incl. VAT
OFS Services specializes in rapid rat control. Thus, in almost all cases we can be on site within 24 hours, sometimes we can come by the same day with our emergency rat control service.
The exterminator maps all places where the rats are located. This involves looking for food sources and nesting sites. Based on this, walking routes and placement of traps are determined. We ensure that your house remains free of rats in the future by removing food sources and placing barriers.
Unlike other pest control companies, this approach ensures that in almost all cases one pest control is sufficient. And a control will cost you only € 175 incl. VAT.

Suffering from rats? Very annoying! Especially since they pose a huge risk to our health and that of our pets. They can transmit various diseases and cause allergic reactions. It is therefore important to take action quickly. But how do you know if you are actually dealing with a rat infestation? Read below on how to recognize them.
Recognizing a rat infestation
Rats are nocturnal animals so it is often difficult to determine if you are bothered by them. Checking the following signs can help you.
- Rat droppings unlike mouse droppings, are all found together and are 1 to 2 centimeters in size. Droppings that have not been around very long look shiny, which tells you if the rat is actively present in your house and/or garden at that time.
- Rats gnaw constantly on cables, plastic and wood to ensure that their growing teeth remain short and sharp.
- You can smell the presence of rats because they leave a strong odor smelling of ammonia via their urine.
- Scratching noises, these are heard mostly at night since rats are nocturnal animals. Their sharp nails make them easy to hear.
- Belly Lake is a brown to black running track that forms in places where rats regularly pass. A rat uses its whiskers to explore its surroundings. In places where its whiskers don’t touch anything, such as open spaces, it runs close to the ground or wall. This leaves dirt and grease from its fur and creates belly grease.
Do you recognize these signs?
Then chances are you are suffering from a rat infestation. Rats pose major health risks and reproduce at lightning speed, so they can form a large family in a short period of time. In addition, over-the-counter poisons are not strong enough to get rid of all rats by themselves and the smell of human odor gets in the way of control. So how do you get rid of a rat? Difference brown and black rat
Brown and black rats are most common in the Netherlands. Although the name suggests that color is a good distinguishing feature, other characteristics exist that distinguish them better. For example, a brown rat (Rattus norvegicus) is mainly found in basements, barns, stables and crawl spaces. And the black rat (Rattus rattus) is found mostly in tall buildings, docks and attics. A brown rat is 15 to 24 inches long, while the black rat is 21 to 29 inches long. Weil’s disease, plague and hantavirus are mainly spread by the brown rat. The black rat particularly spreads plague and trichinosis.
Lifestyle
Eating behavior
A rat is an omnivore but eats particularly protein- and starch-rich foods. The brown rat eats mainly foods high in sugar or protein. While the black rat eats mainly fruits and nuts. In addition, rats also eat snails, bird eggs, larvae and sometimes candles and soap. When the rat is deficient in protein, it may even turn to cannibalism. Lactating females and subordinate brown rats occasionally stockpile food.
Propagation
Most rats reproduce from March through November. A litter consists of one to sixteen young. Each year, a female rat will have about three to six litters. Thus, her family can grow to as many as 96 young in a year.
